Default Got a guy wanting to race my

There's a group of ricers in my Automotive class, and one of them wants to race me. He's got a 1992 acura integra, 5spd, and he had some engine swaped in in place of the factory (no idea what it is though). I'm going to race him and see how it goes, hopefully he does'nt have a turbo, nos, or anything like that. I don't want to get showed up by a suped up lawnmower.

He more than likely got a H22 Vtec or a Acura Integra Type R engine. Those are the 2 like highest ranked Honda engines to ricers.

He probably just dropped a type-s in it. Much easier to find and much cheaper than any type r motor. 200hp ain't bad for a rice-mobile. Just remember his car doesn't weigh much less than yours lmao. Do the math, 200hp-260hp...

Good luck and hope you spank him.

No, I doubt he even knows what a drag strip is. We'll probably race on some back road.

Here is the question.

You have seen his car right? Trust me, the bigger the wing, the slower the car. If he has ANY chance of beating you with his integra it is cause he spend his money under the hood, not on type-r stickers, a 747 wing, altezzas, etc etc.

The problem with a lot of these Kimche-Kamero drivers is they dont know squat about a good V8. All they know are thier little ricer buddys telling them how they raped a cobra with a conda civic with CAI and fartcan. Thier buddys actually believe this stuff and think that mustangs are slow. So they are usually pretty suprised the first time they race a GT.

There are plenty of GT's in my area. Plenty of ricers too. I think most of the Fartcan bandits in my area have tried racing a GT and lost and have no interest in it anymore, they know they are out of thier league. Throw in a heft exhaust and most WRX STI's and SRT-4's wont wanna risk being shown up. They pretty much just ignore me and my mustang, they dont wanna get shown up.

Odds are if it is a ricer, yer gonna smoke him. (unless it is one of the new packet of hyper-powered bubblegum cars like the SRT-4)

Most of those kids are all show and no go. Even the ones who drive the cars that CAN take a mustang are too chicken to try, even though they have a good chance of winning, cause they know if they lose that in thier mind thier Bitchin SRT-4 will never be anymore more than a neon.

Occasionally you will have some little integra absolutly smoke you, but that is a good thing, just a reminder there is always something faster. But that dosent happen often at all.

Yeah, honestly you'll know whether your guna win when he rev's the engine...if you hear the blow off valve then you know it's guna be a good race...if not...theres no way...he's not guna do a stock inline 4 engine 0-60 in 5.4 sec's...my boy'z got a WRX and even he admits without his turbo his car would be ****...with a new Utec and 23 psi he can beat STi's but like the other guyz said it took 6 grand of engine work...i'm lookin to beat that with $2200 engine work and a wet nitrous kit...hehe just gotta get the money! but yeah, My 6 banger MALEST'S those integra's so with an engine swap i'd image you'd still have him...

'92 intega's are common to have an h23 swap, it's a non-vtec engine but still puts out 200hp in a 2300lb car, if it's a stock LS or GS you should beat him pretty good but if it happens to b a gs-r he might give you a close run if it hasnt been ragged. if you see a front-mount intercooler...your probably screwed!

I wouldn't worry too much about it my friend. My buddy drives a lightly modified integra (i think 2001) and I used to beat him by about a car length in my six banger. You can read my v6 mods below. Very light mods.

All you have to worry about is if he is on boost or spray. If hes gutted, you might get a run for your money. its probably a b16 swap.

dont forget about the LS Vtec...its an LS w/ a GS-R head it turns a non vtec motor to vtec and it pumps out a freaking lot of horses for an ls block...An LS-VTEC integra will beat a GS-R integra....just be careful of the roads dude...n good luck

I'f im not mistaken i think a h23 is a 92-96 prelude si engine and if that is the case it is only rated at 160.

95bstallion, the si model came in the h22a1 vtec 210hp, the regular model prelude came w/ the h23a non-vtec engine at 190's but give 200 w/ an intake and other various bolt-ons, i watched a h23 lude beat a '01 h22 lude same mods.

Purestang, your def. right about the ls/vtech se-up but using the b16 head/gsr cams a buddy of mine did that "frankenstien" setup in he's '93 and put out 197hp and stipped the car out running 8.90's in the 1/8 mile.

be carful tho DarkSith

The outside of this dudes car is completely stock, except a couple of flame stickers from auto-zone. lol
I'm going to talk to him a bit before I race him, and see whats all he's got. I had my car in shop class today repositioning my chin spoiler, and he sent one of his buddies over to check out my car. lol
Then later on that day he asked a friend of mine If I would race him, and the thing about them claiming to beat cobras is so true. A friend of his drives a 2dr 97 honda accord auto, with full exhaust, CAI, and an MSD ingnition. He claims he beat an 03 cobra. I literally laughed in his face.....Idiots.

My best friend has a 90 CRX HF with a B16A swap and all the bolt ons. He's about half a second slower than me in the quarter, and his car is lighter than a Teg.
