V6 Auto Performance Upgrade Questions
Hey guys I'm new to all this, but my dad and I do lots of mechanic stuff for fun so I'm not completely lost
I have 09 Mustang 4.0L and I want to do some performance upgrades, but nothing really expensive and nothing that is going to force me to get 8.8 rear end.
I was looking at 4.10 gears and T-Lok system! Here are links below.. what all do I need to buy in order to install the gears and t lok? I saw something about an install kit in another thread but I wasn't sure??

I was wondering as well.. would i need a tuner when I upgraded to 18" tires, 4.10 gears, t lok, and cold air intake?
What other things would be reasonable to add on, or would this be enough? I'm not wanting to race in it, and it's a daily driver, but I would like a little more acceleration!
Thanks for help Guys!

yea you'll need a programmer to set the speedo right for the gears and wheels and since u have a auto the programmer will REALLY help with shift points and pressure...
i have EVERYTHING you need for gears.. i bought them from here but i recently got a wreckless driving ticket so i gotta sale them to pay for it =(
if you're interested let me know, i can work with u on the price and probably save u some money.
Edit: everything minus the programmer

I would buy a CAI/Tuner first then get gears and a Tlok. Your going to like he said need a tuner to fix the speedo for the gear swap. Rim size does not matter because you always run a tire that is the same total height as what stock is.
You need the gears,T-lok, and bearings, and a way to fix the speedo.
Payment can be whatever American muscle takes from you.
I would highly recommend the CAI/Tuner first as its the best mod for the money on the 05+ cars.
Here is a link to a good intake/tuner setup from a good tuner.

+1, cai/tuner first then gears later. If it's a daily driver you might want 3.73's. 4.1's are a little much for n/a sixxers.
You don't really need to tune for diff rims/tires but I recommend it. You definitly need to tune for gears though, stock gears ar 3.27 I believe

Ok thanks guys! I will look into a tune and make sure to pick one up as soon as i can. I was just wondering though, isn't there a electronically limited top speed on my car? Will a tuner get rid of that?
Yes, you can disable the governor and raise your rev limiter but be careful we don't need anymore wrecked stangs
justin at vmptuning.com is your best bet for the cai/tuner combo, unless you want to find a dyno shop and have them do it

Like he said the tuner will get rid of it but our driveshaft is only rated at 115 so idk if i would push it to much lol. Sorry to thread jack but has anyone change out theirs for one like this on our cars? http://v6mustangstuff.com/05Drivetrain.htm
I was looking into that when I was thinking about s/c'ing. The link you gave doesn't list the HP it can withstand, but I found the same part on dallasmustang.com. Says it can withstand 500HP, they're two diff products tho.. #cd30360 for manual and #cd30370 for auto.
Looked like a good mod to me, drop some weight by getting rid of the stock shaft and not take the risk of using that whilst s/c'ing
/me wants a gt
