I have a 2000 v6 and i got slp exhaust for it and it sounds almost like an 8 at 2500 rpm and above but i want that deep *** growl that the v8's have and i wanted to know if anyone out there has done this and what involved in it and what do i have to change beside the trans? hit me back with some info..my email address is vandykt@saipan.navy.mil and qkxit@aol.com but i prefer the saipan address. you can view some video clips of my burnouts on my website... A V6 will never sound like a V8 becuase...its a V6. If you want a deeper sound you may have to dtich the slp and get some actuall mufflers to deepen the tone of the exhaust.

 

oh i know it'll never sound like a v8..i was told by a bunch of people that you could barely tell the diference at a high rpm and when speeding up and then slowing down too! i can tell cause im a mustang nut but they cant..and i got a k&n cold air intake too which adds to the sound. i can always take out the resognators that slp provides w/ the exhaust and put mufflers in,which i'll probably do soon, but its good for now til i get an 8 in it! i got gt exhaust for it cause i didnt see any sense in buyin a v6 exhaust if im gonna put an 8 in it! u know anyone who has done this v6 - v8 swap?

yup, it is a painfull process and the payout in the end isnt that great. For the amount of money you spend on the swap you could supercharge turbocharge your V6, keep some good gas mileage. Not worth it in my books, we priced out and ordered everything for the guy and when he came and picked it up we were stunned that he threw the money away like that after we TRIED to tell him its not a good idea.

 

with all those mods on ur 6 about how much horse do u think u got and how does it sound u got any sounds clips u can send me? and is that sct chip all its cracked up to be..i got a jet chip in mine(not really impressed) but ive been lookin at the sct to replace it.

 

no sound clips only videos. Dynoed at 262rwhp. The SCT chip is great, it altered a bunch of ECU option (should be in my signature) It is a piggy back just like the Jet (I think) If you want the videos you can get them off my website here
