Default 02 GT AODE to Manual swap & other questions

I have an 02 GT convertible auto, I want to change to a manual tranny. I realize this could cost 2-3k and still want to do it.

-What tranny should I get?
-What computer modifications do i have to do?

I need to know everything that is involved and what parts I need to buy.

Also If i put an eibach pro kit springs on it, do i have to change the struts & shocks or can I just do the springs, and how much will it lower it?

Thanks for the info

wow your better off just trading in your car for a manual GT..I would not spend 2-3K grand on a manual tranny swap..I'd rather stick with my auto and throw on a blower for that kind of money..

There is not much of a power loss between a auto and a GT..When I had just my pos BBK CAI and SLP LM I catback I raced my friend in his 99 GT(5 spd) and he got me on the launch but I pulled back on top end and put like 4 lengths by the time I let off..dunno if the 99's are slower or what..or if my car is a factory freak for an auto..can't really explain how I beat him with the 2 little mods I had at the time..his car had 30k miles at the time he bought it from an older man, and he has drove stick for the past 4 years so he isnt bad at driving stick..

oh btw you can just put the springs on your car and not have to worry about shocks or strus..until they blow atleast. My friend works for a shop and they charge ppl around 500 dollars to put the springs on the car..I won't be doing springs anytime soon or I will shop around real good first before I decide to dish out that kind of money.

Whats your reason for switching over to manual?

With the Eibach pro kit your shocks and struts with eventually blow. Youll have to get your alignment checked to see if you need c/c plates or not. Those are the madatory things.

What a rip off. It only takes about 2 hours.

the reason for not trading the car in is because I have over 7k into a custom copper pearl paint job. I know about all the hardware issues, im more concerned about computer and wiring harness issues
