Default 4.10s Anyone??

I need some feedback from someone who HAS installed 4.10 gears on their Stang. Tell me everything. I'm arguing back and forth w/ everyone on this. : too high; too noisy; not worth it; worth it; awesome; too expensive; can't take it on the freeway. So if you've installed 4.10s... especially on a 4.0 auto, gimme the rundown.

A better question would be; who has ever regreted having gears installed? I don't think anyone would raise their hand.

They are perfect. They kick ***. They should have been the first thing I did to my car. You can take it on the freeway, at 80mph I am at 3000 rpm. Mine have a pleasant quiet hum to them. Seems the only person that can hear them is me, haha. They were expensive, but worth it. I got them from AM, paid $528 to have them installed and couldn't be happier.

Once you get them, you'll wonder how you ever did without them.

Alright, so i found someone to do the gear and t-lok install for $150!!! That's exciting cuz almost everyone quoted me over $500. We're set to do the install in January but he won't do it unless i order the parts through him. Is this a good idea?? Cuz the install price is a steal!

Ask him if they are Ford parts (or whatever you want). If they are not what you want, then I'd go elsewhere. You can order a gear combo from AM and call around to maybe a specialty shop or two to see the install cost.

You will need a tuner to reset your speedometer, if you don't have one already.

He'll only order from his suppliers, we haven't ordered any parts yet. I already have a Diablo Sport Tuner and if the gears are as hot as they seem to be, then i'm ready for this.
