Default v6 dual exhaust adapter

i have a 2000 v6 mustang and i bought it with a magnaflow catback system already on it. i want to buy the h-pipe adapter to get more power out of it but i dont know if i need to buy a brand new GT catback system or i can just keep my magnaflow. i checked it out earlier and the system branches into 2 mufflers before the mid pipe. then it just has a seperate attachment to form into the Y. Any advice would be greatly helpful. Thanks

There are no mufflers before the mid pipe those are the catalytic converters which are used for emissions. Sounds like you have the standard Y setup catback on your v6 which splits the single pipe into 2 pipes for the dual LOOK out the back. I take it this is the catback you have http://www.americanmuscle.com/magnaf...t-9904-v6.html

If so you would have to cut the Y out of the catback and have pipes run into those two separate mufflers. Or sell it and buy a GT catback like you said along with the adaptor or a bolt on H-pipe.
