Dual exhaust on a sixer.

Dual exhaust on a sixer.
I was wondering where I could possibly find a mach 1 (I think it is) style rear bumper plastic. The ones that have that soft black almost rubber looking section of bumper between the two exhaust cuts. I guess one more question would be can you strap it on a V-6? I gotta get the car ready for the dual setup

I think all you are looking for is a regular GT (same as Mach1) rear bumper with dual cutouts. I think the black you are referring to between those cutouts is only a few people that may put "blackout" decals there, we can buy them if you want our supplier carries them.
Or perhaps you are talking about the 03 cobra rear bumper, which is entirely different and won't fit the car perfect I believe.
Most V6s with dual exhaust just hang the exhaust below the V6 bumper, but if you really want to spend the extra cash, getting a GT bumper with cutaways looks better. Or if you are going to be buying a rear bumper anyway, you could maybe think about a Saleen or Black Widow kit.
I can get cheap Saleen kits in fiberglass, I think 500-600 or so.

I like the look of the side exhaust but I haven't heard any clips of side exhausts, nor have i heard them in person. Can you get a nice throaty sound with them?
Here's a pic of what I'm talking about, It's definitely not a decal, could be a cobra.

The Roush side exhaust on Stage 1 V6's sounds AMAZING!!! I had the shortie Magnaflows with an X and most people never knew it was a 6...if you live close to any Roush dealer go test drive one....

The little black out that you are talking about is on the rousch mustang they sell decals that u can place there if you want it. I personally only think it looks good on the pre 99 v6's i think you can find some here but they are pricey www.bobwhitedecals.com, this is where I get most of my decals. On my 6er all i did was had a muffler shop run duals straight from the cat back. i just recently installed some long tube headers so im going to be needing some MIL eliminators and i noticed the forum so here i am.

i dont know if you need a new bumper for a dual rear exhaust, i just got my v6 and it has a custom dual exhaust but its using the stock bumper. If i had a digital camrea i would show ya all.
And now that i have had this car for awhile, i can honstly say that it is better to get a kit made for the v6 then go to a shop and have them try and bend it to the car.

instead of making a new topic im just posting on this one.
anyone know if this is a good Cat-Back Exhaust System?
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...merican&id=280
and are cat-back exhaust systems easy to put on by yourself?

Holy ancient thread, batman!
For that price, i'd go with Borla or Bassani. Installing a cat back is easy. Taking off the old exhaust system might give you some trouble. It should only take you about an hour or two.
P.S: Ahh its so funny how IceMan was talking about his sixer and didn't know what bumper he was thinking of. Now he has like 2 Machs and a Terminator. I hope thats where i'm at in 4 years! :-)

Toss the Y. Have a muffler shop fabricate a H pipe for ya. And buy the muffs individually.
I have a custom h, magnaflow mufflers and my pipes dumped right after the mufflers. It'll gargle nice and loud ...sounds good. Don't think you can get a whole lot better with a 6
