Default Need a little help

Looking for a CAI for my '04 V6. I looked on A.M. and the one I saw is only compatible through the '03. Any suggestions on what to get?

if i ware you i would just skip the cai. its not going to add hp so its a wast of money imo.

if you really want to get one i would get a K&N cai they make the best.

is it really a waste? I'll pass on it then and just upgrade the exhaust.

i have a Mac cat-back with a custom h pipe and i love it. you should go on youtube and type in v6 mustang exhoust watch some videos and see how you like the sound of the exhoust then get the one you like.

sorry to disagree..dual exhaust for a performance mod on a very light modded v6 mustang is not a true statement.

Buy a CAI from ebay for $50 and add some hp. dual exhuast might get you 2 more hp than the CAI would for alot more money.

-ebay CAI
-25% UDP
-Gears
-Roller rockers

those are the best bang for the buck bolt-ons.

dont do the rocker rollers. gotta open up your engine and its kind of a shitty idea. unless im makin a drag only car.........stay away from those.

rocker roller is a rocker assembely that uses bearings instead of metal sliding on metal.
A cam/rocker assembly uses a normal cam, but the rocker has a wheel on the end of it like that of a measuring wheel, which rolls by the use of needle roller bearings.
The amount of power required to spin a cam is surprisingly high, and it gets harder if stiffer valve springs are used, which are necessary to prevent valve bounce with aggressive cam profiles at high rpm.

If you want something cheap&easy that sounds good, but don't care if it's "True dual", get the Mac Y pipe dual exhuast. Only point I can see in doing a true dual conversion is if you plan to put some forced induction in the car down the road.

Oh yeah, go make an introduction post and introduce yourself..+ post more pics of your car..welcome to MB.

warriorchief, i did true dual exhaust, CAI, throttle body and let me tell you to save your money and do a head/cam/intake upgrade if you want some real fraking power.

if your set on doing exhaust, don't do y-pipe. ever.

It really doesn't matter if you don't have nitrous or an S/C or turbo or a lot of N/A power, boltons do absolutely nothing for our cars without any of that, you'll probably end up losing power with a true dual and H-pipe because pressure loss.

And it's not hard to chop off the Y and make straight pipes.

They are not that hard lol. They took my mechanic no time at all and was one of the best bolt-on mod i ever did. improved the pull of the car by a real noticable difference.

and the rockers are right under the valve covers. If that's what you mean by opening up your engine. You can see them through the oil cap.

I still have them on now. havent ever had a problem with them.

yup CAI, was prolly the only thing that added a decent amount for the money.

ive repeated that list i posted up there many times. That bolt-on list will improve a bolt-on v6 to it's limit before head/cam or power adder is needed.

what it does is improve lift and less friction from the stock rockers that are under your valve covers.

Improving lift without doing a cam, if one isnt planned in the near future is nice.

I have 1.8 harland sharp, but most going with 1.73 roller rockers. not sure what brand.

Installed a CAI from AM, spent less than $80. I got a better throttle response, even in 5th gear at low RPMs, better gas mileage, a nice whooshing sound when I hit the pedal, and the polished aluminum under the hood is impressive. There are tons of people with CAIs that are more than satisfied...just read the reviews on am.com....
