it just stops the car from spinning the wheels so you dont spin out. It its an '05+ car, I have no idea.

Doesn't have any affect on shift points. Just cuts off the fuel when the rear tires have no traction and spin faster than the front wheels. Helps to prevent spining out like zig said.

It doesn't have anything to do with fuel, it applies brake to a wheel that is losing traction to help keep it from spinning

This is true. However, some cars' TCS does affect fuel and stuff like that. My friend told me (which means it may not be true) that his Camaro, '02 LS1, will close the TB and cut fuel when the TCS kicks in. Our cars just clamp down on the rear brakes.

From my '07 manual . . . "any excess wheel spin is controlled by automatically applying and releasing the rear brakes in conjunction with engine torque reductions. . . "

FYI,

After further review., It seems that LOCO has a new edge mustang. My info on TCS may not apply, oops. .

The TCS system retards ignition timing, thus reducing power and helping reduce wheel spin. It also activates the rear ABS.

Retards? Makes it down right stupid. I leave mine shut off. It can really mess you up when your passing someone, as I found out a few times. I'd disable it with my Predator, but then the TCS light stays on and it bugs me.
