Buying a T-Lok
#2
If you dont have new gears such as 3.73s or 4.10's then you should get those aswell because the price of installing them will be the same because the stock open diff has to come out and the stock gears would be taken off anyhow. So get new gears while you have this installed to make your car accelerate faster. You will need a basic install kit which i dont know if they even sell for the 7.5" you can however get the full install kit from americanmuscle.com and replace the bearings for the t-lok carrier which is a good idea for a new posi housing. I always do.

also, im not sure on this, but I don't think you're car is setup to run TCS. and really, the TCS doesn't help much, I honestly think you're wasting your time and money. when I occasionally go to the strip, I turn my T-Lok off.

why are you buying a T-Lok for your v6 mustang? it's not like you really need it.

Um...you can't turn off your t-lok. You can turn off traction control but that's something completely different all together.
And yes like said before if you're going to get in there to put in a t-lok swap in some gears while you're at it.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
No you can't be serious. You really want to call me a noob when you don't know wtf you're talking about.
Traction control is activated when the computer recognizes a loss of traction at the rear tires. It then lowers the amount of torque being sent to the rear tires until the situation is controlled. In more advanced systems power is distributed differently to the tire that has more traction and less to the tire that is slipping.
A t-lok or a traction locking differential, ford's term for the more widely used and GM coined term LSD, limited slip differential, is not something you can turn on and off. It is basically a clutch pack that distributes torque to both wheels instead of one in an open differential. Unless of course you have an electronically controlled diff which I think eaton makes one now when you can leave it as a open diff for street driving and lock it up when you're at the track.
Don't worry though we all learn something every day. School wil be back in session tomorrow son I'll pick you up from home no need to drive and worry about turning on or off your t-lok LOL.

Ok lets say i buy the 3.73 gears and a T-Lok for my car.
Should i buy this with it? http://www.americanmuscle.com/rearendrebuild1.html
And should that cover the installation for the gears and the t-lok??
Also will any 7.5 T-lok fit in my mustang or do i have to buy a 2001 t-lok?

No problem, but also i dont know if we said this before but your speedo will be off and your tranny will shift weird (if its an auto) if you dont get it tuned for the new gears, or get one of those speedcals (they recalibrate the car for the new gears). I would just get a cheap canned tune from justin at VMPtuning.com you can get a chip with a tune for $269 i belive its a good deal and you will gain a few ponies too.
