Question Dual Exhaust Setup-

ok so i think i'm going to just get a setup and put it on myself. so i was wondering how to set it up. can i go with Long headers, Short Midpipe, and any GT Catback exhaust for the same year as mine? will i need this http://www.americanmuscle.com/v6duexadkit1.html ?

You can just follow the other exhaust thread or you can get the Long tube headers (are you getting MAC?). If you get the MAC longtubes then you can also get a MAC O/R H midpipe (offroad=no cats so probably will not be emissions legal depending on how your state tests but many people have O/R midpipes) and then any GT Catback. MAC sounds pretty good you can go to youtube and search for some videos. Look for a setup that has full MAC exhaust which would be Longtubes, Shorty O/R H pipe, and MAC Catback. Otherwise buy whatever longtubes (for a V6), have a shop make you a custom shorty H pipe and then you can put a GT catback on your car.

They sell o2 sensor extension kits if you need them. Not sure why they told you not to use longtubes. They probably don't know what there talking about. Are you going to a custom exhaust performance shop or one of the chains like meineke (sp?). Meineke and those chains typically don't know what they are talking about. Yes with a custom H pipe that borla exhaust will work since it will be custom they can fabricate it if they need to for it to fit.

I'm pretty sure if you just buy mufflers they are sized up by things like 2.5 inlet or something like that. I got a catback system off a website so mine came with everything included so I never really took note of the muffler size. Then most people will do either a 3 or 3.5 tips. Otherwise just call the company and they will tell you which muffler to get

yes thats correct:

For shorty headers: http://www.macperformance.com/store/...ategory_ID=479

For Long tube headers: http://www.macperformance.com/store/...ategory_ID=475

Those do not have cats however so you will not pass emissions if your state is strict about that
