i went to a local muffler shop in houston ... they really didnt do good work tho, a completely custom job and i was naive and didnt really watch what they were doing ... anyway my hanger on one side has broken multiple times and ive had some rubbing issues so i would suggest spending 3-350 for a good custom job ... and please watch them doing all of the work and if something doesnt look right say something .... and get a warranty in writing ... k im done

True dual exhaust system is a term that was used beginning back in the 1940's and Means that a separate exhaust pipe is used to expel gases from each cylinder head. Within this system, additional components to equalize pressure may be installed which by today's terms are called "X" or "H" pipes.

straight back is dual not true dual

you dont have to believe me.
But just another thing to look at, do you see any dual exhaust system made by a professional company that doesnt have a H or an X

well considering most companies only make midpipes for GT's and GT's require the crossover i don't really see your point.

fake dual is when you split your Y-pipe. I think no crossover would still be considered "TRUE" dual since each cylinder head still gets its own outlet. the only reason (besides sound) the crossover is required is because of the 8 cylinder's different firing order

yeah ive never seen actual dual exhaust for a v6 just the y pipe conversion thing ... so i dno i can understand that most exhaust companies just make their products for a v8s

no htownv6 your right you have true dual. True dual consists of: "A separate exhaust pipe is used to expel gases from each cylinder head." (and then each pipe has its own muffler of course) The only use of a midpipe is to equalize pressure but this is not needed on a v6 because it is an even firing system. Every exhaust system built for a V8 consists of a midpipe because otherwise the pressure will be off balance.
