Default Adding power cheaply

I know this thread has probably been made 20 million times, but I own a 2005 4.0L V6, and I was wondering of some cheap (maybe 2-500 dollar range) ways to make my car more powerful. I'm not complaining about the power it already has, but I would like to eventually be able to whip som GT butt with my 6 lol. So, any suggestions?

Power cost money. But the cheapest way to run with a GT is to run nitrous. You can but complete kits for $500...run a 75 shot.

The cheapest bang for your buck will be nitrous. If you really want to whup some 05+ GT but you should also look into getting upper/lower control arms, and a tune as well as the nitrous. You could also skip all of that entirely, go straight to a turbo kit and kick some modded GT butt.

Hey, don't tell me anything about 'worthwhile' V6 posts.. Trust me, I've posted plenty when I had my 6.

The bottom line is it takes some $$ to make a 6 faster than a GT (especially an 05+). He asked for a cheap way to go fast.

The 4.0 is actually pretty damn peppy and can hand alot of cars their asses, including alot of non-pi GT's.

My advice... Save your $2-500, enough for some gears and a power adder: Nitrous, Turbo, or a Supercharger.

I could save around 1,000 in a few months, if need be....I just bought some gt500 wheels and centers, so that was a tad expensive...But I guess it would be best to save up more over a period of time and do something that will be worthwhile. I guess I'll be looking for some sort of turbo kit or supercharger....I'm so clue-less on this stuff lol...
Thanks for the replies everyone!

Why do two turbo's when you can use just one and make more power? Sure TT's look cooler but just because there are two doesn't mean that they will be more efficient.

It all depends on where he wants the power to come on at. If I don't sell it I'm going to TT my FWD 3000GT. At a roll they'll kick some AWD TT VR4 and Stealth TT butt because they're so much lighter. But for my 07 V6 I'll probably SC it down the line, I like the feeling of instant power rather than waiting for the turbos to spool, and it's a little less work/money to do it.

Yeah, the 3000GT VR4, it's an AWD TT V6 with 320HP on stock boost levels. But very easy to up the HP and boost with minor mods. But it's def not a lightweight. My FWD 3000GT weighs a hell of a lot less and most of the TT parts from the AWD version basicly would just bolt on. But that's for later

Because high posts counts mean that you know more.

Why did you bump this thread, it's over a month old.
