Default Adding Power to Bolt on 2v

I am looking to add some power to my 2v gt. I have full bolt ons pretty much but now since I added M/T et streets to my mod list I've decided I want to go faster. I have 373 gears. I want to add something that will cost under 1k since I am a college student. I want best bang for my buck pretty much. I want to stay away from nos since its my DD. I've thought about doing cams or port and polish or something of that sort any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you have another car to use while you send out your heads to get port and polished, cams are probably your best bet.

Was that diablosport tune the stock 93 tune or has it been dynotuned? If it hasn't been tuned on a dyno get that done.

Cams would be good for power not too expensive if you could do the work yourself.

Or save up a bit longer and get a set of the new trick flow 2v heads.

Porting the heads will probably get you the most power then. Especialy if you change the cams at a later date.

I do have some suspension mods. Ive done lowering springs. Bumpsteer kit x2 ball joints Cc plates but the only thing I havent done is like LCA arms. I thought I was hooking pretty well with the MT tires though. Any idea how much of an improvement LCAs would give me on times or on my 60 ft.

You say you don't want nitrous because it's your daily driver, but I see that as the reason you SHOULD use nitrous. You only use it when you want it, not all the time like other power adders.

The springs are hurting you. As for LCAs, the difference is night and day. Get some subframe connectors, LCAs (MM, GW, or Currie), Fox 4 cylinder springs up front, and some adjustable shocks/struts. That should put you around 1 grand and make a huge difference in hooking up.

I agree you sound like a perfect canidate for nitrous. You don't have to use it all the time, its super cheap, and it makes power. My car is my daily driver and I'm a student just like you. Toss a super safe 75-100 shot on the car and let it rip. Problem solved.
