Chips don't make power, the program on the chip does. A tuner can put any program on any chip so long as they work with that brand.

SCT is one of the best if not THE best.

Well that depends. You have TWO options.

ONE - Get a "mail-order" tune. This is when the tuner put a standard tune on it. As long as your car is stock, or close to stock, you can get away with this. These tunes are based on dozens or even hundreds of dynos on the same car.

TWO - Get a dyno tune. This is when the tuner puts the car on a dyno and measures your a/f etc.... The tune will be completely custom for your car. For a modified car, this is the only good option. For a stock car, you are paying extra money and not really gaining much.

Now, if your car is stock, but you have plans down the road for big mods like a blower etc..., you may want to just get a mail-order tune now. BUT, use a chip brand that your local tuner uses, so you don't have to buy a different chip later.
