Superchargers
So I'm just post-whoring about all these upgrades as I've seen an increase in flow recently, I've been researching in the purchase of a Supercharger. My engine and it's body have 74,043 miles on them, and what would be the best option for a supercharger kit? Cash isn't a worry, but try to cap it around $4,000-$4,500.
I discovered this earlier this evening;

Well ..unless you're doing the install tack on about another grand to the price of the supercharger.
There are many brands of superchargers... but the most I see or hear about are Vortech and ATI Procharger...
For some reason..procharger just sounds better to me (can't really give a reason tbh)
But yea...installs are expensive on stuff like that..and if you haven't done it before..i wouldn't recomend trying it ... but thats me.

For a sixer, I would go with a Vortech. There are advantages for a Paxton over a Vortech, but not really when you are using on a 6'er.
I am not a fan of Procharger. They are too inefficient and make too much heat. Why do you think they supply an inter cooler integrated into their design? Because, they have no choice.
For the amount of miles you have on your motor, get a compression check before you even buy the blower. Make sure your engine is healthy. When I had my motor checked, I had three bad pistons and had to replace the motor. Sort of sucked after just spending the money on a blower.
Also, used is a great way to go.
If you have installed professionally, expect to pay $1200 to $1400 for install, chip, and tune. About $250 - $300 less if you don't get an inter cooler.

Yes and no. You can make that same exact argument with any car. Why put a blower on a GT when you should just get a Cobra?

sorry for hijacking but isnt it better to go with KB for a sixer or those type of SC b/c they are better at low end than the centripical sc???
i really dont know this is just out of intrest

not sure w/cheddars.
As for what Lance said..
Maybe you don't want huge HP on a v8? Maybe you want to be known in town as "the guy with the fast *** v6" something that you don't see on a daily basis.. especially when you see v8s pushing well over 300hp on a daily basis (i do anyways...)

Well a lot of GT guys have the big ego's that come with the big ego's (not including Lance or anyone.. but everyone knows the guys I'm talking about). I'm not that kind of guy. I know its not a Saleen and it probably wasn't the best idea to put the decals and sidescoops on, but they're on the car and it gets thumbs up. I don't have anything to prove to anyone, I'm just looking to have a fun, sporty, non-competitive car.

agreed, that is what has stopped me from doing any serious power mods to my car. dropping 4 grand to barley be at stock n/a cobra level....not good enough
it takes alot of work to get a roots style blower(kb, or m112 came on the 03/04 cobras) to go on a six. it has been done, but the work was all custom.

Umm, A 11psi procharger + exhaust+tune will be at least 300whp, depending on the day car etc. to the best of my knowlage i can only think of two mustangs that make more then that stock . . . thats the 03/04 cobra, and the 07 GT500.
No other stock mustang will make that much. so for 3-5k into your v6 (witch should have cost at least 4/5k less then any of the comparable higher end modles aka gt/cobra) you will be faster.
IMO thats being faster for less . . . . .
p.s. no reason to do positive displacement, they're less efficiant and throw less HP down overall
