ok...so...i dont know if this is the right place to add this thread (move if need to be)...but....how do the people w/ s/c like theirs....wat kind of s/c will give me the most horsepower w/o eating alot of hp to spin the blower......i like the twin screw (kenne bell) blowers.....wat r ur opinions on the best supercharger to use......n i would like to spend no more than 3-4k

After your all said and done you'll be over that 4K mark more than likely. You can't go wrong with a Vortech or Kenne Bell. The KB is more expensive but it would be the most fun. The KB has instant boost for quick acceleration. It would almost feel like you have a Big Block under the hood. With the KB it would be harder to launch off the line because of the quick boost. So traction is a bitch with the KB. Practice and/or suspension and tire mods are a must. The Vortech is the cheaper of the two but the easiest to drive with. Since the boost increases with the RPM's, it would make a good daily driver. Also, it would be easier to launch off the line as well. The Vortech is a good kit all around. The Vortech and KB will give you similar numbers depending on the tune. Paxton is similar to Vortech but the Paxton can give you more power in the long run.

hey you can get a safe set up through modular power house . com. and it only costs 3700 or 3800 bucks. most of their set ups yeild 340 360 rwhp with out a intercooler and 400 plus with a intercooler but that will put you way over budget. its a great kit and i am in the process of buying one myself.

First advice, figure at least twice the 3-4k dollar amount at some point. Thing is, superchargers, not matter how safe, they tend to break engines, or , you will want more hp at some point, so the initial hit of 3-4k dollars, is sadly, just the tip of the iceburg. If it were me, and I wanted a street driven, hardly track car, Id go with a Kenne Bell 1.7 intercooled kit. They are good for about the limit of the stock shortblock's hp limit of about 375-400 hp. They are a bit more expensive to get than a vortech, but supposedly, the instant throttle is worth it. However, I would still consider a vortech or novi Mongoose kit. Tim at Modular powerhouse like stated above, is one of the best tuners for the modular motors in the country. He's never lost an engine with his tune, and he consistantly makes people happy with his service. Im actually considering a vortech mongoose kit next summer, but we will have to see what actually happens at that point. i have few uestions to ask. my plan is to have 400rwhp on my 99gt .
im planning to get the procharger p1sc. whats the max boost on the stock block? with and w/o intercooler to keep it safe? and whats the max rwhp on a stock block?

i think i need LT, TB, plenum, xpipe, and catback to get 400 and a good tune?

I'm currently runninga P1with 3 core Air to Air intercooler at 12#. I'm pushing over 400 at the fly from my ET. Haven't gotten a tune for it yet but soon will be along with a shift kit looking to put more at the rear. I would recommend going with 8#. It will keep you alittle below 400HP. I'm keeping things tame till I get a new built engine. I spent 4500.00 but I also got 42# injectors and 90mm MAF.
