could be clutch cable. there is a way to adjust it by lifting the pedal way high and slowly bringing it down.
always investigate the clutch cable first. i did a clutch swap on my honda and blew 100 bucks when i could have simply replaced the cable.

my mustang is a 01 and has 71k on it. The girl I bought it from lived in the city and was a sucky driver. The rubber clutch pad is worn to the metal from her riding the clutch so much. Although I will try that trick to see if it works. Will the cable being out of adjustment cause chatter and vibration through the pedal??
