Default 97' V6 Intake

So im trying to decide on a intake and im debating between the 2 on MT.com and the MAC intake

The MAC intake claims a 9 hp increase http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=239

This generic intake kit from MT.com
http://www.mustangtuning.com/94-98-v...ir-intake.html

and last the Steeda intake
http://www.mustangtuning.com/stv6hiairkit.html

My problem is i have the money for the steeda kit but im guessing it uses the stock intake tube? How can it be that much better with just a cold air box and filter? What do you guys think i should go with? For the biggest power/sound/acceleration increase?

thanks for the help

honestly just get the mt one since it will look and function just as good as any of the others. If you really don't care about how it looks under your hood, get a drop in K&N filter and pull out your airsilencer and you will have the same effect. CAI do basically nothing so don't expect to feel fast.

Default yea

Yea im more performance minded when it comes to under the hood appearance dosent concern me much cause i really dont show off my 6 cylinders but more mods are coming is the cheap one a good investment if i plan on things like exhaust, pullys, tune??? i dout i will do anything else to the motor dont have the money... but i was always led to believe that a CAI something about the combination of the filter and the diameter/bend of the tube made some sort of difference in the restriction/air flow now i feel real stupid ill go with the cheap one hope you guys are right!!!

yeah, they will do something, but you just won't really be able to tell what. The reason people talk them up so much is because they are cheap and on hondas which come with intake tubes that our about 1/2'' big then adding a CAI with a 2'' diamater will actually make an affect. our cars are not so heavily restricted so we don't feel the same gain. But going with a cheap CAI will free it up a little bit.
