my friend just got a '99 GT Auto and I know that it is inevitable that we will run them. I own a '03 V6 5-spd w/ tru dual Flows and a ghetto homeade cold air on it. His GT has 18" wheels and im assuming its stock. Will I be able to hold my own against this GT or what? He only got the car because he hates on mine all the time, but I dont blame him for getting the stang.

A stock Auto will run from 14.1's-15's depending on the car and driver. Your car runs high 15's. So i would say you dont have a chance sorry man. You might get the jump with your manual but he will walk you.

 

Some don;t realize the extreme difference between an v6 and a gt. They don't even feel like the same car. Sorry man, he'll stomp you. Even with an auto, all he has to do it put the pedal on the floor and your done. Time to mod.

 

will it take much modding to at least keep up with him, not blow his doors off.
Are we talking gears and a tune...etc(bolt-ons) to keep up with him or power adder?

 

easyest way would be a little giggle juice. But if your not into spray try a blower, pretty much any blower will bring you up to above his level.


as far as bolt ons you will been pretty much all the bolt ons.

underdrive pulleys, pipe back exhaust, gears tlok, anything else you can find to toss on there, but honestly the easyest way is to find a cheap used blower

Nitrous would be the easiest route.

 

I still dont get why people worry about beating GTs... I never did when i drove my v6... i would run everyone and and anyone, regardless of how much faster there car may be, its still fun. My v6 was a badass looking car, but it just doesnt have neough power. Afterall, if all it took were dual exhaust and a CAI, why would Ford make a V8? Either get a GT, drop in a v8, or power adder... =/

 

Get a blower. You wont be slow anymore and you'll get lots of respect.

its those damn 03/04 cobras that get me worried

 

lol, wait till the new ones come out, they gotta be bada$$ since the new GT's are pumpin' almost as much as some of the older cobras!
