Best tire?

Best tire?
I'm looking for a set of 275/40/17's to go on 17x9 Bullitts
This is a daily driver and I would like a good treadlife so I'm not constantly replacing tires, but I'd like good traction too. Kind of a mix inbetween. I'll drive it in the rain and on dry pavement but I'm going to leave my stock tires on in the winter snow/ice months.
What would be a good set of tires?

My friend's called me stupid for driving a Mustang in the winter, I told them it took talent, not stupidity... well they've all had their trucks in the ditch. Anyway...
I'm just looking for 275/40/17's for spring/summer/fall. $125 per tire or less would be great, I want a good traction/treadlife blend.
