Default rim size 95 mustang

Guys I have a 95 mustang gt; it has 16 OE rims. I can’t find anything I like in a 16. Can I put 17’s on the car without the tires rubbing? There are a lot more choices for 17’s out there.
What do you think?

You can pretty much put almost any tire size on you want, height wise. It's more the width that's going to make the difference. I'm running 17x9 all around. I have 255's in front and 275's in the rear.
Here is a chart for our cars. :P

uuhh, you can't put 17" tires on 16" rims. if you want some 17" tires you will need to change rims

I don't think that was his question. I believe he wants to upgrade his rims, but can't find any size in 16", which are OEM rims. So he's asking if 17" rims/tires would rub, since their is more options for the 17".

Thanks for the information and the links!! My new mustang is the 95 GT I’m working on now. My son took my other 03 V6 Mustang to collage. I think I got the better of the two but I have a lot of work to do before I will be happy.
Tires and rims are next, than I need a whole new exhaust system, springs and shocks. Man the list keeps growing!
Thanks again for the help have a good holiday!!

OP: check my parting out ad in the classifieds. There's tons of great parts in there for cheap.

ok, i took the question the wrong way i guess he meant new 17" rims, my bad. OP, i have 17x8 bullitts on my car with 245/45zr17 up front and 275/40zr17 in back on my 96 coupe with no rubbing issues what so ever. i have stock suspension on mine but if you plan on dropping it you will have to consider that

Default 17 inch rims

You can easily fit 17" rims with no worries about rubbing. I have a 95' with 20" rims and low pros and it doesn't rub at all...though it would if I didn't have these particular tires. The only thing you should conscious of when purchasing is the width.
