Default Tire question for my 00'

I just bought some 18' bullitt rims from a friend that had them on his 98 and i am buying new tires for them. The tire that he had on it was a 245/40/18 but he took them off. Is this the size i need? Will they rub?
Thanks

if they are 9 inches wide i would run a 265/40 tire or a 275/40 tire.

If you just stick any tire that will fit on there it can mess up ur speedo.

Then they are probably 9s because I don't think you can put 245s on a 10 inch rim

the rim would be wider than the rubber

10 inches = 254 mm they can't be 10s

245/40/18 is too small of a tire to run on that rim...your speedo will be off and the tires will have a stretched look. if you like the stretched rubber band tire look than go for it but dont expect it to peform well and get ready to feel every single pebble on the road.

i suggest at a minimum 265/40/18 but a 275/40/18 is my preference.

they will fit and will not rub... the front may rub if you make a u-turn but thats a if. the rubbing will not be to the point where it will damage your tire.

I think he miss typed that as it should be a 275/35/18 or else it will be to tall. If it was me I would go either 255-265 up front with as big a tire as you can fit out back. Such as a 305/35/18 on the back. But you might want to make sure what the actual rim width's are, before you order any tires for them.
