Jut get a new set of Sumitomo HTR Z III
After my last set of Kuhmo SPT's have now been worn to a slick in the rear and the fronts are screwed from a bad alignment job I had to get all new tires.
I loved the Kuhmo SPT's they are a great tire and I almost bought them again, but I read many reviews and the HTR III's are supposed to have better dry traction then the SPT's and they are cheaper. So I figured why not.
I will post some pics of them next to the 275 SPT's and a little review once I get them here tomorrow. I'll be driving to NC which is almost 900 miles one way for me with these new tires on Friday.

I've had my HTR Z III for about a year and a half now and have been very happy with them. I tore the fronts up pretty bad at the Memphis OT event. After I go again in September I will probably get a pair of Nitto NT05s to replace the fronts.

Let us know how they're holding up Spike; I'm interested in the traction they provide both dry and wet also. My car came with Nitto NT555's in the rear and some Bridgestone all-season tires in the front and even though this is my first car and I have absolutely nothing to base my experience on, the rear's don't hook up too well.
They have considerable wear but as the tire gets more bald dry traction should go up as it is becoming closer to a slick shouldn't it? I know in the rain I have had to hold the wheel pretty damn tight a few times because my tires are getting to the point of offering no hydroplaning resistance. But from a dig I understand that these cars can spin all the way through first and most of second if you're not properly controlling the throttle, but perhaps my inexperience is just the culptrit.
Sorry for the long rant here, I didn't mean to semi-hijack your thread, but just curious as to the traction they provide and the treadwear (which you obviously won't vouch for yet) from you and others as I'm going to be needing to replace my treads soon. I've heard good things about the Sumi's but just as many good things about the Nitto's...

I have them for my front tires and they have been great so far. Interested to see if they hook better than Kuhmos.
I wanna say it's 160 lol, compared to the 300 or so that the htrIII's have.

No they charge to much for them compared to the place I bought them from. They also will show up way faster then from AM.com as I live far from them.

I would probably order them from http://www.onlinetires.com/ ..... They're only like $89-$99.00 there I think.

omg i need new tires BAD as the fl people know. I had to put my stock 6er wheels back on for the meanwhile till i get the money to buy some tires but I'm planing on getting the sumo htr 3 for the front and getting the nitto DR for the rear. But the bald wheels will be making an appearance at the meet as i dont wanna look gay as **** with the stock wheels ha

i just put these tires on my car with the new rims. 265's front 285's back. So far they seem like a great tire. I haven't pushed them even close to their full potential but in the bit of spirited driving they have incurred they have done very well, seem very planted and are definitely a great tire. I only have driven them in light rain once, and they seemed to already do worlds better then the HTR Z I's. The HTR Z I's just are a really crappy tire all around they are good for being cheap and that's about it.

So I have put around 800 miles on them driving to NC from Orlando. I drove through a wicked storm where I could barely see in front of me. They had no problem going 65mph in the rain at all. Over all very good tire in the wet for sure. Dry traction has been great so far. They are a little more stickier then the SPT Kuhmos I had before hand. They do corner better as well. They are pretty evenly matched with the SPT over all, but costs less. So this is a win win for me.
They are however slightly narrower compared to the Kuhmos I had.
Now just have to see how long they last.

They are holding up really nice even with my aggressive camber settings. I would highly recommend these tires for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of cash for a good street tire.

I have been running my HTR Z III tires for a couple of years now and have been very impressed with them. The only thing about them is that they don't like a lot of heat and will get greasy easy when heated up. I have chunked and worn out my front two tires from open track events, but they do well in mild temperature autocross.

I have been running the same set of HTRZ's for 4 years on my car. They have worn even and never given me any problems. Incidently, I have 15k miles on them. I don't drive this car a lot, but 99% of that time was with 400 rwhp. They will likely last 2 more years.

Is it the HTR Z IIIs or the I or IIs that you have? From what I hear about the I and II's, I would never put them on my car, but the III's are very decent tires.
