Which tires?
#6
All 4 tires cost me right at $850 and I know the owner of the tire shop.245's would'nt work, the 2 sizes I have are at least a size smaller than I wanted, but they match up well and I like them alot now.Would of liked 295/35/18's for the rear but could'nt find them in stock anywhere locally.

18x9 and 18 x10
just installed mine. 295/35 WR18 Firehawks on back ($189 each from tiresavings.com - allow 2 - 3 weeks to arrive - they're slow but cheap - shipping was $14 per tire) 275/35 WR18 Falkens on front. Car is equipped with Steeda G-Trac (1.2" Sport springs, C/C plates, strut tower brace, sub-frame connectors, Baer brakes, Hawk pads, etc, etc) Sticks like mad.

295's
I have 18x9's on the front and 18x10's out back, and the tires are 295/35 18" Firestone Firehawks on the back and 275/35 18" Falken's on the front. The 295's were chosen as my least favorite that however was much the cheapest tire ($189 each from www.tiresavings.com - be advised their service ran 2 - 4 weeks getting me these tires...). Shipping was $57 for all 4.
I wish the car weren't a daily driver, so I could use 315 series drag radials - but these tires would only last me about 6 months to a year, and it would be crazy replacing expensive tires every 6 months.
The Z, W and Y rated 315 series tires available in 18" (you really need more than an H rated tire on a GT) are either competition tires and drag radials, or tires costing almost $500 each (run flat versions intended for high end porsche or mercedes, for instance). These are truly fantastic tires - with truly fantastic prices, of course.
I'm happy with the firestones, though I wish they were wide enough to give the rims a bit more protection (their raised rib and the deep dish lips are just about even). 295 series tires are about as hard to find as 315's, but you might check out the new General UHP tires that tire rack is just introducing - you might have to call to find out about them, since they weren't on the web site a while back when I checked. I rather hope that more manufacturers bring out 18" in the 315 or 325 size - it would greatly help pricing, and selection as well.
