rub?

Shouldn't
Shouldn't rub. I run 18x9's on my front with 275 tires, and no rubs, with 1.2" steeda springs.
DO keep your isolators (round bushings that sit on top of the springs and rubber bushings that wrap around the top of the spring), even if some buddy recommends you don't so you'll go even lower. Otherwise, you'll have a harsher ride and squeals, and it will lower your ride more than the springs alone are designed to do.
At more than 1.5" drop, you start having all sorts of things happen that are not good, like bumpsteer - Steeda makes a great bumpsteer kit, but if you don't have the problem, why create it?

will i need to do shocks or struts or anything else with my car? It currently only has 35,000 miles and is a 1997 gt. I was just planning on dropping it 1.5" with the eibach pro kit. Any other recommendations? thanks

Low mileage
Your original struts and shocks should still be good for a couple years at least. There's no question you would save labor if you installed struts and shocks at the same time (the spring install requires that the struts be essentially removed, anyway). If you just want the added handling and look the springs alone will give, no problem, go that way. If you are serious about improving handling and 1/4 mile speeds, and have the money, new adjustable struts and shocks can make a big difference. If you want rail handling and you've not already made the spring buy, check out kits that include the springs, struts, sway bars and shocks (www.maximummotorsports.com and www.steeda.com, etc.). The labor savings over doing the installs seperately are immense.
