Default 315/35/17 Common Problem (?)

I finally put on my new 17x10.5s with the 315/35/17 Sumitomos. It appears that one wheel/tire sticks out farther than the other with relation to the rear bumber. Now, normally I would think that I just didn't tighten the lug nuts correctly, but I have seen this same exact problem on other Mustangs as well. Has anyone else had this problem or even heard of it? And if so, how can I correct it? Just for reference, I have a 2003 Centennial (same as a GT). Thanks for any help!

On my v6 one wheel stuck out more than the other, but it was only noticable when I had spacers on. It never caused me any problems mechanically and I had it checked out by some mechanics, but it looked odd.
