Default anyone else have the C:/ folder Common virus ****

Just wondering if any of you got a folder in your C:/ program files called common containing the files helper.dll and helper.sig. This thing is pissing me off If I delete it renames itslef to commonSH! with the files _helper.dll and _helper.sig. Then I delete that and it disappear for a few days and recreates itself. I can't get rid of it with any malware remover and when it installs I have to delete to be able to get online. Hackers I seriously hate you

I believe you were trying to say do a system wipe? Meaning reformat the drive and do a fresh instal of everything, after making a backup of any and all files you want to keep.

The problem with that is depending on what type of virus it is it may have leached into some of those files you backed up and re-infest the system.

I tried a system restore that was unable to fix the problem. I will just need to have someone who knows how to look through the registry and hidden files to fix it... computers give me a headache after a while. haha I would seriously like to know how these hackers can make such complicated viruses that can recreate themselves, guess they have nothing better to do? Either way this may explain why my credit card number was stolen a few months back

I had the Code Purple on my HP desktop, and googled it up...found the solution and now have a good desktop--again.

Moral: Go Apple.

The problem with Apple is they have exponentially more security holes then Windows. Hackers just haven't paid much attention to them in the past since they are less mainstream and not used in business as much. So unlike Windows which has been brutally targeted but patched continuously to take care of the problems and loopholes, Apple had no incentive to make a quality OS so it is a blank canvas for hackers to paint on. With their rising popularity, its only a matter of time before owning a Mac is like being bubble boy and having your bubble removed while visiting a slum in a 3rd world nation.
