I was wondering if anyone has any pics of 275/40/17 on stock 17x8 rims. I was thinking of doing this but want to make sure it's not going to look funny. maybe i will just stick with 255/40/17 or 265/40/17. none of these sizes should through my speedo off should they?

 

Have a friend running 275/40's on his 01 Bullitt. It has the factory bullitt wheels on it. The tires don't bulge too badly, but it does bulge a little. No pics of it though, sorry...

 

been doing it for years; it works fine.

you lose a lot of sidewall strength with them bulged out like that. 255/40/17 is about the biggest I'd go on a 8" rim. 8.5 moves up to 265 and 9 gets up to 275.
