lowering tire pressure at the track?

Default lowering tire pressure at the track?

i was thinking the other day if i should lower my tire pressure in the back i dont have dr's or anything i have bfg kdw tires 255/45/17 in the back would it help any if i took out some pressure?

ive heard that if you drop psi on a street tire, you end up giving the tire a "cupping" effect and actually end up with less tread making it to the ground..drag radials are a different story tho 4 sho...but also realize that to much pressure will do somthing similar as ur tread would end up wrapping around the sides...i stick with 30 psi all the way around...

that's my take on it. lower pressure in a drag tire or slick is ok but street tires will probably lose a little something on the launch if it's dropped too low. I know of a few guys that like to drop it to mid-20's but most street radial guys I've been around are too lazy to bother... they just say fugg it and run what they brung

use whatever psi makes the tire have full contact on the ground (this should be the same psi you use on the street). This is for street tires only.

alright cool cause i saw a couple guys at the track dropping the psi in street tires but im not ill just keep em at 30
