Default wheels and tires

I have a 2005 stang. I want to get new tires I am getting Shelby Razors( gun metal). The recommended tire and wheel sizes are 18x9 both front and rear. The tire sizes are 255/45 in the front and 285/40 in the rear. Like I said this is the recommended sizes that came from the Shelby dealer where the rims come from. Does anybody recommend any different sizes or combonations. Let me know.

I'm exactly in the same boat wanting to upgrade my 05gt. According to americanmuscle the best fit for the 285/40 is a 10" rim. You also may want to check 1010tires and check the tire calculator- it says the rim width should be 9.5-11". hope that helps.

Depends on what look you want. You could run the same size all the way around so you can rotate the tires. Or you can run staggered sizes so you have more tire out back and to me personally that is the way to go. So it just depends on what you want to run on the car really. You could even run a 305 Nitto out back if you really wanted to also.

DO NOT go with the 17x8s man. Atleast get 18x9s on the back i bought 17x8s for both front and rear, and i really wish i had bought 18x9 or x10 on the back. So much so that im looking to sell my old ones and buy new 18x9 or 10.
