Question Quick Tire question

I have an 00 Gt with stock 17x8 5 spoke wheels. I'm about to get 17x9 Bullit wheels. I already have a new set of 4 michelin pilot sports in P245/45R17. I was wondering how the car would look with this new wheel size and tires.

Do you think it's better I sell the michelins and get a larger size tire?

Thanks

Agree.

It's ashame you would have to sell the PS's though, a lot of money I'm sure.

Thanks for the info guys.

Would you recommend a P275/45r17 or a P275/40R17.

The 17x9s are good for 275s on them. I would get 275s or they wont look right.

40's. 45's are a bit tall and your speedo will be off.

45 is the aspect ratio. It's a relative measurement compared to the width of the tire. a 275/40/17 is the same height as a 245/45/17 but a 275/45/17 is a bit taller. Go to tirerack and look at revs per mile. Stock we're looking for 810-813. Much above or below that will change speedo readings enough to matter in the more vigilant speed trap areas.

now that you mention that, i remember that its 45% of the tire width thus making it larger being that its a 275, not a 245...dam im dumb sometimes....sorry

It's hard being perfect all the time but I manage. At least I'm nice about it.
