315's on a deep dish in the back or 285's on 17x9 in the back. gona run 245's on front.
now the thing is i dont wana be weighed down, so if the 315 on a DD dont make much of a diff id do those, but, i have a GT, not a Cobra so it seems 315's might jsut be a waste and ill get enough traction with 285's.
i thoguhtt my mind was made up wiht 285's but i jsut wana see what u guys have to say about 315 on a deepdish weight wise.
nitto 555dr's on the rear of course

100lbs of dead weight aka not rotating mass is ruffly .1 in the 1/4. Every 10lbs you add to rotating mass ie,wheels, tires, bigger rotors, flywheels etc.. slows you down .1 in the 1/4.
So 100lbs of dead weight added or taken out slows you down tenth in the 1/4 mile.
an 10lbs of rotating mass added or taken away is worth a tenth int he 1/4 mile.

there's no reason to have that much tire... grip doesn't come from bigger meats, it comes from a good suspension setup. Bigger wheels... nah. Stick with 17x8 w/ 245 to 255 tires or 17x9 and no larger than a 285. There's is a significant weight difference and you'll save the constant rubbing and extra cost. If you can put the same size on each corner then you could even do a front to back rotation which can add many miles to your tire life.

I think redneck si 100% correct. Often times, what he said gets over-looked. In fact, many guys setup their cars and often times slow them down w/o realizing it.
However, you have to balance "looks" with performance and it becomes a personal decision.
I have 315's....I had them when I was n/a. Now that I am blown, I probably need them more, but they still slow the car a bit. But, I love the way they look.
