k..i got 1200 to use for parts...its either FR500 (17's) wrapped in Sumitomo's and Springs or lots of performance parts...which should i get...Performance or Rims..

i got a **** load of money for my 18th and thats y i got 1200..im limited to like 1500

 

well... tires are considered performance... as is suspension...

 

what rims do you currently have?..if it was me id probably do gears+tuner..02

I'd rather look stock but have some power, than to look like I have power.

Accufab TB and plenum, Tuner, 4.10's, maybe UDP's or CAMS.

I would'nt WASTE any money on UDP's.The limited gain is'nt worth the cost.

If you go with the 4:10's,tb/PL and a tuner your at around $1000.Then you have the cost of the install.So say around $1300.

Now the Rims and tires are going to run you if you go with 17's and the Sumi's $1050.That's any FR500 except the Chrome.I'd say go this route and add a set of H&R sport's and you have a completly different looking Stang.

 

I love the gear's,tuner and TB/PL but the Rim's and my spring's are by far my favorite mod so far.I just can't hardly stand a stock looking Stang anymore.

Power bro, your ride looks sweet as it is, even with those rims, and they are not the ugliest rims ford has made for a stang. the way older turbine rims are the ugliest. POWER....

It comes to a point where you get all the power mods you can, including UDP's, to get the most out of your car. I'd rather get another few HP and TQ than nothing.

I've seen a 2000 GT gain 8HP and 7TQ on top end, to the wheels on a dyno sheet, it gained 2HP and 2TQ on the bottom end. but...i've seen an accufab 70mm TB gain only max 4HP and 4TQ to the wheels, that's with a plenum too, but TB and plenum together made 11HP and 10 TQ to the wheels. If you have UDP's and don't reach 5K rpms, then yeah, your not going to feel it. Would i get UDPs...hell yeah.

 

Thats tuff, my wheels were my first mod, but damn I love my 4.10's....

I say get 4.10's and springs, that way you get a little bit of both.

 

I'd give you mine for 3 grand... lol jp, to be honest with you, the springs are guna cost alot to install, unless your guna do them yourself...

if you want performance, lowering your car and getting wider tires will SERIOUSLY improve your handling, not as much Body roll, and ALOT better traction...oh and they look cool too...

That's the order that I would do it in.

 

Gears or cams would be my first choice. The rims you have aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be, and like others said I think performance comes before looks.

after much debate...im going to go w/ Rims and Tires...black FR500's in 18's wrapped in KDW 2's...im also throwing in a Pro-Kit while im at it

good choice!!!! dont think the gears, intake, and a tune would INCREASE but soo much hp anyway. and plus install charges suck for performance mods! wish i could do things myself but i cant so i pay! i mean gears are fun and all but get those ugly rims off your stang! haha and for apperances, IMO after the tires/rims/springs, you are DONE with overall "look" of your stang! then go on to performance!!

I too went with rims tires and suspension before i added power to my car and now i wish i went the other way. I have mods now but i wish it would have been sooner.

 

definatly would have gone performance first
