Default Need Advice....

Hello all....

I was wondering if you could help me out. What do you think the next mod should be? I have the following:

Fender CAI
Flowmaster Cat Back
SCT XCal 2 Tune (MT)
4:10 Gears

I think I am heading in this direction in the next couple of months:

MAC H-Pipe
UD Pullies (Steedas)
Nitto 555R's (Rear) (275-45-17)

Within a year:

Venom 100 shot
Suspension Upgrades

As you can see i'm all about performance upgrades, I don't care about visual upgrades......

i would deffinatly get a h-pipe next, get rid of your cats if you can. look around you can get used h-pipes for very cheap. It was my cheapest mod i ever did power wise. And gave a nice drop in et at the track.

I would definitely finish the exhaust.

Go with the h pipe and get some LTs for it too.

If not go with a T-Body/Plenum combo, thats another good mod to start finishing off those bolt ons you started. Pulleys arent a bad idea either.

I would personally wait on the tires if it was me... DRs just wouldn't be needed at this point in time, you can get them, and yes they will help greatly with your 4.10s, but you still not generating enough power to actually need them yet, but thats just me, IMO.

I totally forgot about the T-Body and Plenum mod.....Thanks for Reminding me. If it adds about 5 hp that would be great, I just don't want it taking away from my TQ. So you think I should go with the LTs and the H-Pipe with the T-Body and Plenum? That would give me about 25-30 extra HP? How about TQ? Seeing how I need a Good TQ number for Drag Racing I don't want to take that away from my Car. Thanks for all the advice. I think i'm putting at least 235hp/275tq right now, but that is just a estimate I don't have a Dyno around here so i'm just guessing. I would like to make at least 275hp/300ft lbs tq by the time i'm done and before I add the Nitrous. Thanks Again.

Definately get a mid pipe and LT's if you want.

Forget pulley's and TB/Plenum. Go straight to cams, VT Stage 1 for 600 bux and no other pieces needed. Go with stage 2, add another 5-10 HP, and also need springs. Best bang for the buck IMO other than N20 or S/C.

WhiteThunder your opinion means alot to me, so you think I should forget about the UDP's, and the TB/Plenum and go straight to the CAMS (Stage 2)?? How much would the install be (Estimate) So for my mods it would be the following:

Mid Pipe
LT's
Stage 2 Cams

How much HP/TQ do you think I would be pushing out with all of these mods? (Est)

Thanks,

Bragg

Well I can't speak for much on cams since I've never had self experience with them but from what I've seen expect about 20RWHP from stage 2's and about 15RWHP from stage 1 (could be close to 20). This is keeping in mind your auto. Cost of stage 1 cams or stage 2's are about 600 bux. Springs for stage 2's are about 200 I believe. Cost of install roughly 400 bux. Add a little more for a dyno tune (which you'll need).

I may get Stage 1's and plan it to cost around $1000. I like to overprice though.

As far as exhaust my car has a full SLP system with cats and put down 235RWHP. After a tune it did 240RWHP/284RWTQ. (also has a worthless BBK CAI). If I add stage 1 cams I would hope for 260RWHP since I have good exhaust flow.

As Spike said however, worry about exhaust first.

+2 on the exhaust. Finish up that exhaust and let the pony breathe.

Another vote on completing the exhaust. Also, what is your overall goal for the car? Do you ever plan to supercharge? If so, the UD pullies are a waste.

Maybe one day I might supercharge, but not anytime in the near future (1 Year) I plan on throwing a venom 1000 Kit on her though in about 2-3 Months. I want to see what I can do with that. I'm gonna listen to you all and finish my exhaust and then maybe throw on the T-Body and Plenum and then the Nitrous. My goal is to hit low 12's before the year is over. Thanks for all the replies.
