Question 08 gt susp ?

ok, this has been bugging me lately,or 4 awhile. i tried the o'le gt500 frnt brake swap, these idiots in Dallas strung me along for bout a week 1/2, well finall answer was my spokes are off centered "WONT WORK" so i had them put my old chit back on, all i got out of the deal was some stainless steal lines, well, i said thats fine, they had to put spacers on during this time, spacers are having to stay on, didnt like that but they said it will be fine, i said ok, well bout 2mnths later i thought a peice of ice chunk fell off my car one day going down the highway, come to find out it was the lower calipar bracket bolt, i was pissed at the IDIOTS in dallas who did my brakes. (anyway, to get to my ?)
Has anybody noticed on their front suspension any "loose" sound, susp noise when their rolling over any bumps or rolling over indentions in the streets etc; ????

that's typically a sign of something loose or broken. The only times I ever hear busted sounds out of the front of a car is a bad camber plate or fucked up bushings or ball joints.

Don't let those guys touch your car again.

I hear rattle from mine on the rear, but thats because of exhaust.

You're not going to be able to do bigger brakes on the stock wheels, and also very few aftermarket wheels.

Your best luck is going with a 20" lightweight wheel (Saleen and Steeda make awesome lightweight wheels) and then get the big brake kit. Skip the GT500 and do the Baer like me.

But seriously.......do it.

i think that's what i really need to do, go on and get some different wheels. where is a good place to look at some, maybe lighter wheels and some bigger brakes to choose from. ? thanks

I think the 14" Brembo 4 pistons of the GT500 are a bit better than Bear's kit, unless I'm mistaken on what the Bear kit is.

Look at what I just posted above you....Saleen and Steeda make the best cheaper lightweight wheels, anything out side of them and you're going to have to get some forged lightweights.

For brake kits look at Lethal Performance and Stage 3 Motorsports. Those are the two that have the biggest selection.

The GT500 kit is a joke, from personal comparison it sucked. My roommate has the GT500 kit on his and he hates it once he drove mine. My Baer kit with Hawk HPS pads will stop shorter than his car by a pretty good distance as well not just making it nose dive.

Upgrading only the fronts are just going to make it lock up and the rear slide out due to more initial bite up front, bias if you will. My roommates car will just kick out if you slam on it (without hitting ABS), whereas mine stays straight as a whistle.

Take it for what it is. I got my Baer kit, including SS brake lines, for about $1400 and that deal can't be beat. Plus, with the Baer you can upgrade to a bigger piston caliper later on if you want. Like if I ever get a DD and turn the stang into a time attack car I'll get 4/6-piston rears and fronts.
