Default 05 Suspension Ideas

Hey guys, I just bought a 2005 GT with 50k on the car. I'm putting some 20" american muscle wheels on it a few weeks, but I wanted to get it to a good stance first. I was thinking of going with the eibach sportlines to get a solid 2" drop, while also thinking of replacing the camber plates too. With 50k on the car, should I be replacing the shocks/struts right away as well?

Im open to any other ideas for suspension as well, if any of you have 05+ stangs that have been dropped. Thanks!

With 20"s I wouldn't drop it 2 inches....my 18"s are close enough to rubbing at 1.4". If you do don't slap anything more than a 20x9 on there. I personally would replace the shocks/struts with the heavier weighted springs. The C&C plates are nothing to install if you do it while you've go the springs out. Personally I think the 20"s are too much, they look nice don't get me wrong but not after lowering it. My wheels look big enough as they are now. Just my opinion.

I bought the Ford Racing FR3 kit with some new C&C and did a little customizing to it, but it looks great. The eibach's ride like ****, honestly. They're so stiff that it rides worse than an my old '65. I'd either get the Steeda or Ford Racing, hell even the Roush. The bigger the drop doesn't always mean the better. They look okay, but like I said with 20's idk....

good call with the ford racing springs. I found a set for $189 which is a great price. says a 1.5" drop all around, which seems decent. I want to do the springs first, then closely follow it up with a shocks/struts replacement. Should I put the springs in first, or just wait until i have the funds for the whole suspension kit? I dont know much about these new mustang styles yet, when it comes to suspension.

You drop it now and later add the shocks struts once you have the money. That's what I did and many others do the same thing too.

Yea you could go either way. The MacPherson struts are a little bit of a pain as far as compressing and all of that to get the spring off. but not so bad that you'd NEED to wait, it'd just be easier. It's your choice, either way I'd get someone to help you if you could though.
