Question spring and shock

Ok I have some Black Bullitt Wheel with 275/45/17 and back I have 315/35/17. I want to lower it more (I don’t like the 4x4 look) with spring and shock combos. Which will be better for a 2001 mustang vert?

i just bought all of my suspension parts from http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...namicIndex.asp and i had no problems with them at all, there is also http://www.maximummotorsports.com/ which is an all mustang site! i believe you have to pay for shipping on both of those sites, AM has free shipping and handling so if possible i would try to get the parts from there and possibly save a few pennies

wrong section this belongs in suspension talk...moving.

Spring and shock/strut choice depends on what your needs are. Do you want just to lower it for looks while keeping a close to factory ride. Or do you want to lower it and firm it up a little or a lot to make it handle better. How much do you want to spend and on and on it can go. Also what is the use of the car street/strip/track?

Exactly, give us some idea about what you want to do with the car and what your budget range is. A good springs and damper setup can be more or less around a thousand including things you need like C/c plates and SFCs, plan on spending more than that for coilovers.

So do you want to slam or just make it lower and look better. For a daily driver you can't go wrong with steeda sports springs as they drop the car 1.25" so speed bumps aren't to bad with those. Also the Ford racing C springs are nice for daily driving too. The H&R Super sport springs are nice too, but will make for a harder ride, but they will handle better then the other two springs above. There are more spring choices then those, but those are the ones I have personal experience with. Maximum Motorsports also have a nice street spring with their own spring rates which I hear are good for daily driver cars like yours.

As for shock/struts sounds like a nice set of non adjustable Tokcio HP would be good, or something like that. Bilsteins would be the best really, but they cost a lot and I think you can get shock/struts that are as good for less money.

Wait, only the front? That means you'll have to find someone selling only the back too... could potentially be a pain in the ***.

If you don't mind a much firmer ride those are good springs. If you want something softer then you might like the Eibach sports too.

here is a photo of a v6 vert with those springs.

That's a toss up, some cars need them some do not. Mine has around just over 1" drop up front and its close to needing them.

You can always do that that's what i did lowered and just kept putting the CC plates off but after a while I knew i needed them when my front tires had been eaten up only on the insides.

Well how low of a drop are you going for? If you are looking for a 2" I highly suggest getting the c/c plates now. You will have the struts out already so the install will be easy. No need to undo everything you just did to install them later down the road.
