several questions all related
AWhile back when i had my car lowered, we took it to a mechanic to have the super sports and blue tokico shocks/stuts mounted on my car. Wanted to installed them myself but that is beside the point. SO the guy installed the springs and shocks. Then called my dad and told him that i need a camber kit for it to work but instead that moron decided to MOVE the shock tower by drilling new holes at the top of the shock tower......uh.....hmm.....didnt really understand why he did that but IF i was consulted on this decision before hand i would of just gone out and gotten a camber/caster kit.
So this guy lowered my car put the springs and shocks in and then said oH wait i can't align your car. Why? Because your rear axle is bent...uh hmm. Later came to the conclusion it was the douchebag before me because of the similar tire wear on the previous tires i had when i got the car. So we had the rear axle replaced. By the way my dad likes to make decision like that without talking to me about which is very frustrating.
So far the car was lowered, the shock tower was moved by drilling new holes at the top and my rear axle was replaced.
Now in my current state of my car there is now a LOUD clunking sound on the rear side passenger side. And right now my back seat is out and i can hear it perfectly and i am almost positive it is the control arms, but i could be mistaken. I have a feeling everytihng is interrelated in this situation.
So MY questions are:
I want to replace my rear lower control arms with the Steeda Steel uppers and lowers. What do you guys think? I dont need any fancy arms in the rear for driving back and forth from school, work and home. And price is an issue.
And i will be getting a camber kit but i dont know if the relocating of the shock tower will affect the usage of the camber/caster kit. But i do want the MM kit for sure.

Don't replace the uppers. (because of bind and things that hopefully you have already read about by searching to learn everything you can about control arms.) I like MM better but I'm sure Steeda is fine. What do you mean he drilled new holes, like three completely new holes or just drilled out the originals? Get the MM c/c plates and I would mount them on the original holes. How much do you trust this mechanic?

rear bushings are probably gone or he used the wrong size bolts in the front holes on the rlca's or he didn't tq them properly.
come over to my house and let me look at this nightmare before you guys completely destroy your goddamned car. Tell your dad you're taking it to an expert and it's not going to cost him anything. If you take it back to that mechanic for anything I'll personally have to curb you.
I'll tell you what's broke and we'll find out what it'll cost to actually fix it forever. While we're working on it, you'll be learning... bring a notepad.
