Lowering springs: need an alignment?
I'm thinking of lowering my 99 GT. If I install lowering springs, will my car need an alignment. I'm also thinking of new lower control arms and Bilstein shocks in the rear.
Any recommendations on lowering springs and lower control arms?
Thanks

wrong section goes.
You need an anligment when you lower the car. Also new lower control arms will help with traction and handling, there a great mod. If you do shocks do the front struts aswell as a car as old as yours im sure they are worn out.

For lower control arms, Maximum Motorsports or Global West, since both use a similar design (except the Global West pieces use a 1 piece poly bushing instead of a 3 piece). As for springs, FRPP, Eibach, and H&R are all good, just don't go crazy w/ the lowering. A 3/4" drop is perfect if your car is a daily driver while 1.5" is the max for that since at that point, you'll start bottoming out on speed bumps and driveways more often. If you stang is a Sunday driver, then you can go more the 1.5".

Ok...then nope, no alignment needed. Oh and when you do lower your car get an alignment again...and don't buy camber caster plates just yet....you might not need them. I didn't...I lowered mine and put it on the alignment rack and neither the camber or caster were even close to out of spec or bad in any way. I bought the CC plates, but they are still sitting in the box. That's an expensive box.
It would be a good idea if you can afford it, to get your suspension products from MM (http://www.maximummotorsports.com)
