Default Which Shocks and Struts????

Hi All,

The purpose for the upgrade is to reduce the 4X4 look and improve the handling some. I was thinking H&R Sport springs and I want Bilstein shock\struts but which ones do I need??? This is for my wifes 03 GT that she drives on nice days and we occasionally take on long trips in the summer. I want bilsteins because my Lightning has them and they are so comfortable!!! Any advise would be greatly appretiated!!!

Thanks!

Default Shocks and Struts

Shocks and Struts are a matter of taste and money. The Bils are a great choice. However they are a bit pricey for me. I put KYB Gas-Adjust in addition to a Urethane bushing replacement on my 98 GT and I love the way it handles. Go with the KYB KG9090 in the rear though. They are the Mach 1 rear replacements, and they are a little firmer than the 9023 listed for the GT. New springs a must too!

Shocks and struts are a matter of matching them to the springs and the car... not so much taste. Money is a whole separate issue.

Go with the combo you had planned. It's a good one. Call up Maximum Motorsports and they'll probably spec out their HD valved Bilsteins. Sport valving would probably be a bit much. I'd also recommend some Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates so you can get the alignment dialed in.
