Default I HATE SALT!!!

Ok, now i can finally rant to people who will understand! Yesterday I wash my car, which sadly doesnt happen as much as I want it too now that school has started... and it F%&*ing SNOWS last night and even though everyone and thier mother knows it would have been COMPLETELY melted by noon, they decide to salt the s%&$ out of the road and completely destroy my freshly washed car.

Yeah.. I hate salt too. Most of the time it is pretty useless. I prefer when they just throw down gravel for traction, but that has its downsides as well.

Ok for the southern and just plain ignorant folks here (like me). Besides the part about speeding up corrosion and all, how does salt affect the looks of a ride? Seems like to me the snow/slush on the road would make a ride just as dirty. Maybe im missing something here I guess.

Its bad for paint and speeds up rust and it makes lovely white streaks on the side of a car as soon as it dries... If i didnt re-wash my car today i would take a pic. to show you... hopefully the car is stored bytime we get snow again though...

That sucks. Another reason why I would not live in an area where it snows. I like to be able to visit the snow and then leave when I want.
