Before headers: 20 around town 25-27 highway.
After headers: 21 around town 28 highway.
On the topic of gas mileage. did anyone notice that Ford reduced the mileage of the newer cars from 25 highway to 23 highway?

the EPA finally changed it's mileage testing to include things like extended idling and higher freeway speeds

It's strange though because the new 3V engine are more efficiant. Not only that, you still see the Jap car makers using mileage ratings that don't exist even in an ideal world, never mind the real world.

Car Companies are required to post EPA estimates under the new standards until the 2008 + model years. If you go on ' Fueleconomy.gov ' you can look up individual models and it will show you the old and new ratings......

I used to get about 18 mpg with 85% around town city driving.

Now I get about 25-28 mpg with 85% highway driving. This is sitting in spotty rush hour traffic as well.
