if you're driving mostly city, i can see how 13mpg is happening. if its a lot of stop and go traffic or stoplight to stoplight stuff then the power to weight ratio of the V6 is what kills your fuel economy. if i drive my car really easy (probably 85% of my driving is highway) then i can manage close to 25mpg. once i add more city mileage in, it drops dramatically. i took my car to chicago in june and killed 3/4 of a tank of gas in one night.

geeze! In my v6 I used to see 17/20 for city driving and 25+ on the highway.
Even in my cobra I get 18/20 in the city and 27 on the highway(just recently on my trip to school).
Sounds like you either need to lighten up on the pedal some, maybe go through do some routine maintenance( air filter, oil change, fuel filter, clean the fuel injectors, spark plugs) 13mpg is pretty crappy.
Also maybe try sea foaming the motor, could help clean out a lot of built up gunk with in the motor.

done the seafoam when i got it about 3 months ago...just put a K&N air filter, need to get the oil change, but 95% of all my driving is stoplight to stoplight

I built a vaporizer to go on mine (2001) but still could get only 21-22 city, I replaced the fuel filter (filthy) and show a little better than 25, I have a two mile hill to go over to get to town, I am going to order the CAI this morning. Will have to eat it on the K@N filter I put in.
The other mod was to put magnaflow muffler and bigger pipe. Work was done by a former racer, he said leave off the duels so I let him have his way with it.
When I bought the car from my son, it was a dog, not enough power for even an old foggy like me. I like the car now.
So there may be things you could do to get better mileage, still it seems to me 13 is pretty low for a v6, maybe a lazy o2 or something or something else wrong?

big question is 100%gas or 10% ethanol? i lose 5-6mpg in my xion when i have to put ethanol in it.

your car should get no lower than 18mpg even in town and about 25mpg highway depending on mods and lead foot. if your lower than that get a tune up and try and figure out what's wrong.

i get 15-16mpg in town and 20mpg highway. and that's with me loaping around town. and flooring it when i get pissed at people.

I stay about 19mpg. The cooler the weather and the less I press the pedal it improves, but still no more than 21mpg.

When I had my sixer, I was averaging 21 city and 27 highway. With the Mach it's 13 city and 17 highway.

Damn 13 is bad. I get around 20 in the city during the summer. Less in the winter cause of the defrosters thanks to the conv. I can squeeze 29 to 30 out on the highway. Is yours a auto or 5spd?

07 V6 coupe 5 speed manual. K&N filter mustang GT muffler. Average 20 to 23 city/highway. Open highway, interstate type get right at 30mpg. Thats 70+ miles per hour.
Almost traded for a Bullitt until gas went out of sight, this little V6 is just fine.

I would've gone with the Bullitt instead of the sixer, but that's personal preference I guess. The day after I picked up my Mach, another Ford dealer called me to tell me I could've gotten an '08 Bullitt for $2,000 cheaper. But whatever, I like my pony.

About 18 city (lots of lights), 28 highway. 13 mpg is too low man..something either wrong with your car or with your foot.
Do you run the AC on full blast? lol

my fuel mileage feels like it's crap...but i figure with the way i drive, i get about 15 - 19 MPG city, and 19 - 24 highway.

Your city mileage won't change much with gears. You'll be shifting more though.

Not sure how that would affect an auto trans. car.

EDIT: When I lived in the middle of nowhere I'd get about 22 mpg regularly... now that I'm driving two miles to work through heavy city traffic, it's dropped to about 15-16. That's with a lead foot and a manual, rolling on 275/40R17 all-season tires.

Good idea, dirty fuel filters are cheap and easy to replace, and are often overlooked by people. You should be able to use one for 30k miles before replacing again... just fyi.
