Default How weird would it look...

I backed into a truck a couple of days ago and need to buy a new bumper. I'm not going through insurance because it'll be cheaper in the long run to just by the parts myself and do everything myself since I know what I'm doing. Would it look wack if I got a GT bumper but only had the single exhaust for a while? I don't really want to buy another LX bumper when I'll be getting my duals this summer. Summer is about 9 months away but I don't want to spend 220 bucks on the LX bumper and then have to spend another 300 on the GT. I could afford to get the sixer bumper now and the GT later but that extra 220 bucks would be nice. Would it be better to get the GT bumper and just drive around lookin' like a wired-o or should I just suck it up and get it when I get my duals?

Alright. Anyone know any place that I can get one painted cheaper than bumpers.com? I've been looking around but that seems to be the place to go.

virtualbodyshop.com. the bumpers come pre-painted to match your factory color. cheaper than just paint or just a bumper and it comes painted. OEM poly style, good stuff. I have 3 body panels by them.

They don't have the GT rear bumper cover, and they're a lot more expensive

they used to... have you called or just surfing the web site?

In any case, call and tell the sales guy you saw their web address on a blue mustang from california. they might just hook you up on the price.

And LX has been given the nickname to anything below a GT model in the sn95+ models.

Ok, my input.

But everyone has told me not to paint the bumpers or parts the OEM paint right away for it will not match because of fading, etc.

They've told me to go to a body shop, they have some device that the can scan your paint and get a code to alter the OEM paint to match the fading, etc. This is what I keep being told.

depends on how faded your paint is. If you want cheap then get it painted... paint is good quality. If you want a dead nuts match get it unpainted and have it matched. my car was 18 months old when I did it... you'rs can't be that faded. I'd be more concerned if it were older. Your call though.

I don't think it'd be off by enough to justify 300 bucks in extra cost.
