I STRONGLY suggest installing hood pins before you drive more. The only reason I went so long without putting pins on mine is because the latch area was steel. The hood has some good lift on it while driving at anything above 25mph. These CF hoods are light and an be lifted off the hood prop with a strong breeze.

My hood is all fiberglass. The hood latch area is a metal plate bonded and glassed into the hood. It's very rigid but will give away eventually.

Almost done, at least you're taking time to do a good job. By the way the hood is immaculate.

I think your hood looks great CF. I would however try and keep it away from the sun as much as possible and keep it waxed.

I have had my hood open on me two times while driving on the expressway going 65. Both times the safety latch did not allow the hood to fully open. I think the only time a hood can fully open is if you installed the latch wrong, failure of the latch or failure of the hood. In your case I would be concerned about failure of the hood since it does not have a metal plate. Also make sure that your hood latch has tons of grease.

Thanks Venom.

Yea I KNOW that if I didnt install the FRPP Hood Pins and only used the OEM latch, my hood would fly open eventually. The metal latch would rip through the frikkin plastic hood latch area. But tomorrow I am finishing the install of my FRPP hood pins and those should give me the added peice of mind I guess. I have not driven the car for over a week because I havent had the time to finish up my pin install..

What wax should I use to help protect the hood from fading? Does any type of wax work ...? like Canuba wax or suttin?

Mine came with a rubber seal, very thin but a seal to protect hood.

You can use any wax but just make sure it has some at all times to protect clear coat.
