Default ebay headlights 99-04

ok so my headlights are just plain simple shitty. they look crappy with the film on them that you can't get off, maybe by wetsanding but i'd rather just get a new set. i was searching ebay for some and came across two that caught my eye. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_5598wt_1165 this one says under the item description that its not compatible with HID systems which i don't get since it also says its OEM. maybe they dont no what there talking about so i might not go with that one, next is this,http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...ht_5223wt_1165
seller has better feedback, more expensive but looks like the seller knows what he/she is talking about. so im just looking for a little feedback of what you guys would do, i might end up just ordering them from AM just to be safe but if i can save some money why not?
thanks guys, - kyle

I personally dont like the chrome faced headlights in the 99 and 00 model mustangs.

ONLY THING IS, when u get ANY ebay headlights, make sure u seal them up good, out of my set i have now, one fogs up a little but im gonna heat it up and seal it good soon.

well for me i dont really like the black or smoked headlights on my silver mustang, just something about it i dont like too much, i feel a new set a chrome headlights would really make the front of my car look so much better, but is it safe to get them off ebay when they say there not HID compatible when the OEM ones are?

seriously, the chrome headlights are the ones that always look soo scuffed up, and chrome doesnt go well with silver, well in ways but not all the time, BUT its your car. Basically all housings should be HID compatible because they are an OEM style. HID cant work in projector lenses because theres no room for the HIDs to actually work. BUT im not sure thats my 2 cents. Id still stray from chrome headlights tho.

---- Chrome looks good on a lazer red or something with someone going retro look.

I got ebay headlights, but didnt want super dark ones... i went with black housing and clear corner lenses. They ran about $100, im not sure if they are HID compatible or not. Hope it helps!

I'd say that any/all of the headlights in this thread would be compatible with HID's.. The only Mustang headlights I've ever seen that weren't are the halo's or "projectors" because they have a built in bulb in the projector and the housing isn't large enough.

Most people say that the only style of housing that is compatible with an HID is a true projector (ie BMW, Lexus, etc) because the "mirror housings" just bounce the light everywhere instead of focusing the beam through a projector.

Ebay headlights are almost always hit and miss... I've found some things that were exactly the same as AM on ebay before, but those all seem way too cheap to be the same manufacturer and I'd guess that most of these ebay lights will be no good after a few months, even if you seal them. Spend an extra few bucks and get them from somewhere like AM or Blueovalindustries.com .. And whatever you do, even if you get them from a reputable mustang source, seal the **** out of them with clear silicone and give them a good coat of protectant like Meguiars PlasticX or some other plastic cleaner/polish.

Those dark smoked ones are just to dark for me, I wanna be able to see at night and not the opposite, thats the purpose of having headlights!

Its true they werent the number one quality, but they work fine and with a little, or lots... of sealing they still keep condensation down, if you take care of them they last a little longer than normal
