Unhappy Tint Removal

Looks like I'm going to have to remove the tint on my windows...German Law DAMN IT!!

Looking for some helpful hints on the most efficient way to remove the tint and keep in mind I am living in hotel and do not have access to a garage.

Thanks in advance.

I know when i had my local tint shop re-tint my back window they sprayed amonia on it, let it sit in the sun for a few then it peeled right off.

You can also use Ronsonol or Zippo (naphtha) Lighter fluid. Don't light it on fire or anything. The naphtha has a MEGA low surface tension and obliterates glues which makes it great at doing **** like this. You'll be able to use a razor blade to pick up a corner and then just start working the fluid at the glue. Once done, just wipe the window down with some windex.

The ammonia idea is similar and has roughly the same effect but SMELLS TO HIGH HELL!

Thanks again. But the nice guys at the body shop are going to take it off for me. They have been awesome.

I never would have thought of naptha. We used the hell out of it in Army way back before the EPA got involved. We also used alot of MEK!! And not a set of gloves in sight. Good times.

just the front windows is illegal...dont remove all of it.

when you get there get a 2 year tag and put window tint back on

also car cant be louder than 95 decibles. the lowest part of the car has to be above 4"

I cant remember where you're going? you going to be around H-berg/mannheim area or down south in Bavaria?

I hear H-berg inspection station is still pretty laxed on inspections.

Oh yeah just the front. And since we are going to be there for 3 or more years it just won't be worth it to keep putting it on to take it off again.

I am putting the stock mufflers back on it and that should make it legal.

I'm only lowering it 1.5 inches so it should still be well within the limits.

We are going to be in Weisbaden.

Wiesbaden...Then H-berg is probably where you will have to register and pick up your car. Unless your having one sent to Bremerhaven and driving it back.

my car was only .5 decibels over with a O/R x pipe and magnaflow mufflers. They rev the car to half of its redline. So a 6k redline and they hold the rev at 3k rpms to get a reading.

I think the reg is AE-190-1. Google that and hit ctrl+f and search "inspection". The driver regulation is very lengthy. I dont know if thats the current one...some things have changed right before I left.
