Default Removing door rails

Ok so i decided over this semester that i want to work on all the little things i dont like about my car over break. One thing i want to do is remove the rails on the door, i like the look of mustangs without them more.
2 questions concerning that, one: how hard is it to remove them, and 2: will the pain under be a different shade, I know the person before me had the car in the sun alot and/or never did alot to upkeep the paint (there are a few "stickers" on the back that show up when its really clean

If you have any doubt about the paint on the other side, do what I do.... rock the door rails baby.

lol. Im rockin' the door rails. Im kinda afraid to remove them because I used to live on a clay road and I have a fear that the paint is gonna be orange behind them, hahaha.

I just hate mine because they are warped a little on the ends (as in they are pulling away from the door), it bothers me every time i was my car (which is like 2-3 times a week when its out). There is also a nice little scratch in one of them that i would love to make disappear...

then let them do their duty and fall off XD then go about cleaning, i would imagine claying the area when they fall off and some good buffing would make it look like they werent there when they come off

Id probably take them off. I had a 91 sunfire that had a bra on it since we owned it, and there was no difference in paint color. And when i took that bra off it was FILTHY, the only difference was that the paint underneath it was actually in great shape.

Take them off your paint should be the same color. If it is off a bit then it will blend in over time with some sun.

To remove them just use a heat gun or blow dryer and get them hot so the sticky tape on the back of them gets soft and then slowly pull them off from one end and work your way to the other side. Your going to want to wash those panels and get some wax on there too. You might want to wait till you need to wax the whole car and do it then. Because your most likely going to have to use goo-gone to get the residue off.
