Headlight Clear Coat
Ive noticed recently that the corner of my passenger side factory headlight the clear coat is starting to flake. Its not that much of an eye sore but it still there. Has anyone else had this problem? Im sure the easy fix would be to get new headlights but thats not going to happen. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? For some reason the Driver side headlight is perfectly fine.....

my passenger side headlight did the same thing. It's probably from exposure to sand and stuff on the road. Bought some new headlights (cheap ones) form another website, they did ok till a few weeks ago, now the condensate real bad on the inside. tried resealing them. Now they are getting the infamous scratchy look on the outside. I'm gonna order some new OE ones from MT. Soon..

At my shop we sand them down with 1500 wet. You have to remove all the UV build up!! They will get real cloudy by sanding them down! When done wet sanding spray some clear over them. They willl clear up and be good looking. I just did it to mine this past friday and mine where nasty looking!!! Took me 2 hrs of sanding.

mine started to do that like 1 year after i got the car....the dealership replaced them and repainted my hood which the paint was chipping of real bad also. Hasnt happened since but they are factory headlights so ill be expecting them to again at some point. Guess ill order new ones from am once that happens.

ive got the smoked ones, theyre like the ones on americanmuscle but i got them off ebay for $100, stylejdm is the guy that sells them, you can see through them the same as the OEM ones, but i would save $100 and get them off ebay. Hope this helped

Yep, I bought my first replacements form another website. Saved 100 bucks, now 2 yrs later I'm gonna get some OEM headlights. The headlights I got were made in Taiwan and looked great for a while. Now they are condensating and scratching up. I still have my original smoked headlights from the factory and as far as overall quality, you can see the difference. The cheap ones are a quick fix but won't last. I guess I could get new ones and try to reseal them. I'm not comfortable putting them in a 200+ degree oven though.. dammitt..
